On requestTransparently separated: impact and service
The impact budget goes directly to the supported project, betterplace or the NGO. Herz-Kilometer charges a separate service fee for the platform, challenge page, sponsor integration, tracking, dashboard and reporting. This keeps it clear which amount enables social impact and which amount funds the technical and organisational delivery.
Impact budget
Paid by the company directly to the project, via betterplace or to the NGO. Herz-Kilometer does not collect this budget.
Herz-Kilometer service fee
Funds the platform, challenge page, sponsor integration, tracking, dashboard and reporting.
A possible donation receipt is not issued by Herz-Kilometer and depends on how the payment is handled via the project, betterplace or the NGO.
Why companies support challenges

Local visibility
Logo mention, supporter status and communication material make the commitment visible.
Measurable results
After completion there are figures on kilometers, participants, impact budget and project.
Simple process
Pay the service fee at checkout, give an impact pledge, later pay the project directly and upload the proof.
Why communities start challenges
Activate your own supporters
Communities can get their members, fans and supporters moving.
Involve companies
Local companies can take on individual impact kilometer packages.
Make progress visible
Kilometers, supporters and impact become visible on the challenge page.
Receive a closing report
After the challenge ends, the community receives a report with results and confirmed impact.
Frequently asked questions
What are impact kilometers?
Impact kilometers are kilometers a company symbolically takes on for a challenge. The community collects the kilometers running or walking. The company provides an impact budget and thereby supports the chosen project.
Does a company pay per kilometer run?
No. Companies take on a supporter package and thereby enable impact kilometers for a challenge. The kilometers are the visible story and the shared goal, not a technical per-kilometer billing.
What does the company pay in the Herz-Kilometer checkout?
In the Herz-Kilometer checkout the company only pays the service fee for platform, challenge page, sponsor integration, tracking, dashboard and reporting.
Where does the impact budget go?
The company pays the impact budget directly to the chosen project, via betterplace or to the named NGO. Herz-Kilometer does not collect this impact budget.
Why is there a service fee?
The service fee funds the technical and organisational delivery: platform, app, challenge page, sponsor integration, tracking, dashboard, reporting and communication material.
When does the company pay the impact budget?
The company gives an impact pledge at checkout and pays the impact budget after the challenge ends or after the agreed kilometers are reached, directly to the project, via betterplace or to the NGO.
Does the company get a donation receipt?
Herz-Kilometer does not issue a donation receipt. Whether a donation receipt is possible depends on how the payment is handled via betterplace, the project or the NGO. Companies should review the tax treatment internally or with their tax advisor.
Can a company also start its own challenge?
Yes. In addition to supporting public community challenges, companies can run their own internal corporate challenges with Herz-Kilometer.
